What is E. coli and how can it affect your business?
E. coli is a type of bacteria that normally lives in the intestines of animals and people. E. coli O157, are invisible to the naked eye, and can easily be spread to food. These bacteria could make your customers seriously ill, and can even kill. Food businesses must practise good hygiene at all times to make sure the food they produce is safe.
It is important to note that people with weakened immune systems, pregnant women, young children, and older adults are at increased risk for catching E. coli.
